Are you up for the ultimate challenge? We’re inviting adventurous trekkers to don their hiking boots, don their waterproof gear (well, maybe not in July!), and hit the trails. This 10km hiking adventure promises to test your endurance while raising vital funds for our Gaza aid appeal. Trekking across the rugged terrain of Peak District, including its renowned trek park, participants will embark on a journey of solidarity and support.
Here's a quick overview of the trek:
Date: Saturday, 6th July 2024
Location: Dovedale to Millbank and return.
Meetup: 10am @ Dovedale National Trust car park, Ashbourne, DE6 2AY. Please note that this car park is sometimes full, but there is other parking nearby too. This car park is pay and display, unless you are a National Trust member.
Length of Track & Terrain: The walk is 10km (5km to Millbank, and 5km back to the Dovedale car park) consists of rough rugged terrain, steps, inclined paths and stepping stones water crossing. The elevation for this walk is 259m.
Sites of Interest: Watch out for the famous Dovedale Stepping Stones, mindblowing views of Thorpe Cloud, the dark Reynards Cave, the imposing Tissington Spire, the might Pickering Tor, the quiet Dove holes Caves, and some amazing rock formations along the route.
Difficulty Level: The difficult of this walk is Medium. However, for those who love more of a challenge, you can climb Thorpe Cloud on your return. Once your reach the stepping stones, you will see an inclined rugged path. This will add an additional 2.1km to your journey will a more challenging terrain.
Please bring a packed lunch and bottles of water for your trek.
100% of the funds raised from the sponsored walk will be used in Gaza Emergency Response. Whilst this is a friendly family walk, lone travellers should be at least 16 or over. Elevation: 259 meters (Steps & Inclined paths)
