Access to clean water remains a critical challenge for over 50% of the population in Pakistan, primarily due to poverty, inadequate water storage, and insufficient water supply infrastructure. The Zia Ul Ummah Foundation (ZUF) is dedicated to addressing this issue, particularly in remote areas where access to water is minimal.
To help combat water scarcity, ZUF has been actively digging wells to access groundwater, reaching depths of at least 100 feet. These efforts allow communities to tap into underground water sources that are otherwise inaccessible. Once the wells are operational, water is delivered through a network of filtration pipes, ensuring that the water provided is clean and safe for consumption.
In addition to well-digging, ZUF has installed hundreds of hand pumps and water filtration plants from 2024 to 2025. These installations are designed to serve underprivileged families, helping to improve their health and quality of life by providing reliable access to clean drinking water.
By focusing on sustainable and long-term solutions, ZUF aims to alleviate immediate water shortages and enhance the overall community infrastructure, fostering a healthier and more resilient environment for those in need.
